Iconically & Authentically Freo

'That limestone building on the corner' with Fremantle’s favourite courtyard, and featuring sensational dining, wine and beer offerings, and the largest spirit range in town.

Beneath the hotel hides the Norfolk Basement. Formerly a live music hub, the Basement is a unique function and event space for up to 165 guests.

Above the food & beverage level, Norfolk Hotel Accommodation is 9 convenient and well appointed rooms in the centre of Fremantle.

Built by former Fremantle Mayor (1895) George Davies, the Oddfellows Hotel opened in April 1887, and remained in the hands of the Davies family until purchased by the Castlemaine Brewery of East Fremantle in 1922, then by the Swan Brewery in 1927, in whose keeping it remained until 1957.

A succession of private owners followed, with many alterations to the building, until a major remodel by Wayne Donaldson in 1985, in time for the America's Cup Defence, gave rise to the Norfolk Hotel.

Australia's first craft brewer, Brewtech, purchased the hotel in 1986. Under the stewardship of Garry Gosatti (a founding partner of Brewtech / Matilda Bay Brewing) since 1989, the Norfolk Hotel has grown from the 'best little pub in Australia' as Wayne Donaldson idealised it, to a landmark destination and an iconically Freo favourite.
